Women's XI win the Spring Shield by four wickets
Needing 146 at Marula Heights, the Women's XI got there with eleven balls to spare, thanks to a patient 52 from captain Lerato Dube.

Marula Heights set us 146 on a slow pitch, and for the first ten overs it looked like plenty. Two early wickets brought Lerato Dube to the crease with the score on 19.
A captain's innings
Lerato batted for 31 overs. She took no risks against the spinners and waited for anything short from the seamers, and by the time she was out for 52 we needed 28 from five overs.
We've lost this final twice. Nobody was going to throw it away today.
Ayanda Ndlovu finished it with a four over cover in the 49th over. The shield comes back to The Paddock for the first time since 2019.
Thank you to everyone who made the trip, and to Marula Heights for the tea.
